Welcome to tea week! Not necessarily the first thing that comes to mind when you think of play with toddlers but hear us out! This week you'll make a tea sensory bin, do painting with tea bags and have a dance in your active play.
I've been reading this book a lot to my toddler recently, so maybe that's why it was the first thing that came to mind when putting together the plan for tea week!
This week's nursery rhyme is obviously I'm A Little Teapot.
For this week's sensory bin we made a tea themed box! You could use tea leaves for it but that would get expensive, so instead we collected up little leaves from a tree and broke them up to make the filler. We then collected all the tea related items we could find - a little crockery set, tea strainers and little tea pot. My toddler doesn't put things in his mouth so please adapt this play idea if yours does!
Bit of a weird suggestion, but when you're done making tea why not keep the tea bags and help your toddler do some painting with them? You might wince at the idea, but your toddler might enjoy giving this new way of making mess a go.
For this week's active play put on I'm a little tea pot and have a dance to it with your toddler! Can they do all of the actions?
This week you have 4 pages of tea themed colouring in to do with your toddler.
