Fill a sensory bin with sticks to measure, make a nature window and race and measure cars.
This week's theme wasn't a great theme to find a related book for! So after a lot of thinking we settled on We're Going On A Bear Hunt. May not seem that related, but the brave explorers travel across long distances to try to track down a bear.
For your sensory box for measuring week have a think about what you have that your toddler can measure!
We went out for a walk and collected some dried sticks together. I left these in a box with some cardboard rolls, Duplo and measuring tape so my toddler could compare different sizes.

For this week's arts and crafts make a nature picture!
Ok, not that related to this week's theme of MEASURING but you'll reuse the sticks you collected for the sensory play!
Get some string and loop it around the sticks to make a frame. You'll need to do it in ❌ and ➕ directions to make it secure.
Then stick some sticky back plastic / contact paper to one side. Sticky tape or some cardboard with PVA glue will work just as well.
Go round your garden or park and see what you can collect for your nature picture! I directed my toddler towards weeds that were destined to be dug up but it was amazing how many colourful flowers we managed to collect from them

F or this week's active play idea race cars with your toddler and then measure how far they've travelled with a tape measure!
