The Alphabet

Welcome to Alphabet Week!

Join us on this week's alphabet week! Find the letters in the sensory bin, go on an alphabet search around the room and start making your own alphabet of objects in this week's arts and crafts.

Book and Rhyme of the Week

How about creating an alphabet zoo for your toddler with a personalised book? Perfect for a gift or special occasion. And for the rhyme of the week, how could we not suggest ABCD?

Sensory Play

Do you have some magnetic alphabet letters lying around? Or an old alphabet matching game? Put the pieces in a plastic box along with some rice and let your toddler have fun fishing them out!

Arts & Crafts

Download our animal and object cards below and have fun creating your own A for Alligator or a for apple.

Active Play

Write the letters on post it notes and hide them! Your toddler will have great fun rushing around trying to find them. Up the stakes by writing the letters on paper and sticking them to a wall for your toddler to match.

Download this week's printables

Download your Aa and Bb pages and start making your own alphabet with your toddler.

What you'll need next week

Bit of a random list for next week but trust me it's a good one! You'll need foam card, some coloured card, a squirty bottle (like one you'd use to water plants or you could wash out an old cleaning bottle), a muffin tray and if you have an old shape sorter that's worth getting out too. Hopefully all items you'll have around the home already apart from the foam card!

We've linked the set we used in case you need to get hold of some before next week.

take me to shape week!
