Shape Week

Welcome to Shape Week!

This week, make your own shape sensory bin, decorate Christmas trees and stick shapes to a window.

Book and Rhyme of the Week

Walter's Wonderful Web is such a cute way to introduce your toddler to shapes. And sing the Shape Song.

Sensory Play

This week's sensory play is a shape sorting bin. Put any shapes you can find in a container with rice and encourage your toddler to fish them out. Add to the fun by getting them to match the shapes in a muffin tin.

Low on shapes? Cut up some shapes out of foam (you'll need these for the next 2 activities anyway) and add to the sensory bin.

Active Play

This sounds simple but I promise it will be a hit with your toddler! Fill up a spray bottle with water and cut up some foam into shapes. Encourage your toddler to spray water and stick on the shapes to a window or plastic/glass door.

We didn't have any foam so bought a small pack here for this week's activities.

Arts & Crafts

Keep those foam shapes as you'll need them again for our arts & crafts activity this week! Cut out a piece of green card in the shape of a tree and get your toddler to stick the shapes to it using PVA glue.

Download your shape week printables!

Learn how to trace a circle, fill a circle with dots, escape a circle maze and match the shapes in this week's printable! All from Toddler Hacks upcoming book.
