Explore apples this week with an apple washing station, apple stamping arts and crafts and a quest to find objects beginning with the letter A.
All you'll need for the activities this week are apples and some paint.
We struggled slightly to figure out an apple related book and rhyme! But how about teaching your toddler how apples grow? And singing the very catchy Apples & Bananas with your toddler.
This week set up an apple washing station for your toddler. One tub with apples in dirt * and one tib with warm soapy water and tongs, sponges and brushes to wash the apples.
* What you use for the dirt is up to you! If your toddler is past the mouthing stage then you could just use mud from outside which is what we did.
Another option is to make your own mud with 2 tbsp cocoa powder, 2 cups of flour and 2 cups of water. Bake the flour at 160 degrees Celsius for 10 minutes to get rid of any bacteria, then once it is cool, add the cocoa powder and mix in the water.
Try out apple stamping this week! Cut an apple in half and use it to make stamps on paper. Simple but effective.
For this week's active play go n a search to find all items beginning with the letter A in a room. We found:
